German WWII Stripped SS tunic. This is a very unique tunic. It's a Waffen-SS officers tunic for most likely a General. The tunic originally had army WH insignia on it, but it was determined it was without doubt a Waffen-SS officers tunic and the WH insignia was removed. The tunic is in excellent condition, and shows light use only. No mothing or stains, one or two tiny pulls to the wool. The tunic has the unique SS style collar in dark green with the deep corner points and the size will only allow SS collar tabs. The tunic is also a 5-button front. The coat has loops for several awards, a ribbon bar and loops for the German Cross. The buttons are silver pebbled, maker marked on back and all match. The tunic also has screw posts for the shoulderboards. You can see where the shoulderboards were, and if you look there are remains of light grey/white threads, which would lead me to believe a SS General. Where the brest eagle was, there is only a faint image, but its very faint and very hard to see. On the sleeve, and you can see it in person where a sleeve eagle was, but again that is very faint and hard to see was well. I don't see where a cufftitle was, but took a photo anyway. The liner is a pale green silk like material, nice clean and has the inner belt with chromed buckles. There is a dagger slot as well. Not named, no tag. The threads at the shoulderboard openings would suggest a Waffen-SS General as the base of the boards is usually light gray or white. This would be a great restoration project.
